PlayStation 5 is set to launch around the holidays of 2020, but information about the new system has been slowly leaking out. Sony is said to be working on a “remastering engine” that allows the players to load games from PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4 and also add various enhancement like 4K support and trophy system!
“PlayStation 5 will introduce a remastering engine process for backwards compatibility will PS1 all the way to PS4,” said the source. “Everything. Everywhere. That’s the focus that Sony has been on since 2012.”
The PlayStation 5’s futuristic render design was previously revealed along with information about an eight-core CPU and custom GPU based on AMD’s Radeon Navi hardware.
