Last month CW announced they would be creating a TV series with the first openly gay superhero. It was revealed this week that Ruby Rose will be playing Batwoman when it hits the small screen late this year.
The series about Batwoman, whose real name is Kate Kane, is in development for the 2019-20 TV season. Kane is described as a highly-trained street fighter with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind.
Rose took to Instagram on Tuesday to confirm her involvement in the show.
"The Bat is out of the bag and I am beyond thrilled and honored. I'm also an emotional wreck." she wrote in the caption to a photo of her by an illustration of Batwoman. "Because this is a childhood dream. This is something I would ahve died to have seen on TV when I was a young member of the LGBT community who never felt represented on tv and felt alone and different. Thank you everyone. Thank you god."
Rose should make her debut as Batwoman in December.
