Michael Moore has a new documentary coming entitled "Fahrenheit 11/9" that makes a shocking claim that pop singer Gwen Stefani influenced Trump to run for president.
The film will is set to debut at the Toronto Film Festival today. In it, Moore makes the claim that while Trump was working on the NBC show "The Apprentice", he realized they were paying Stefani more than he was for her role on "The Voice". So as a negotiation tactic, he staged his 2015 Trump Tower presidential announcement.
Moore says in the film: “Trump found out that NBC was paying Gwen Stefani more on ‘The Voice’ than Trump got paid for ‘The Apprentice.’ So he planned a fake announcement to run for president . . . in order to prove to NBC he was more popular than Gwen and [they] would give him more money.”
Moore gives no real evidence to his claims.
Moore’s film will screen at New York’s Alice Tully Hall, Sept. 13.
