R&B singer Eric Benet was on Van Lathan's 'The Red Pill' podcast when he was asked if R&B was a dying genre. Benet responded that it still draws a large following....as long as the singers are white.
Benet goes on to say that while Sam Smith and Adele get labeled a genius, well-known black singers, like Kenny Lattimore, don't get nearly as much praise or attention. Benet states this is just history repeating itself because it happened with Elvis as well.
Benet recently called out some hip-hop artists for promoting white supremacy through their lyrics. Fat Joe's already fired back on that one.
