Following in the footsteps of one of the best wrestlers of all time is not an easy task, but Charlotte Flair is taking on the challenge and killing it. As a matter of fact, Rick Flair already considers her the "greatest by far".
At just 31 years old, Charlotte is already the most decorated woman in the history of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and she is only 5 years into her career. Flair is the only woman to have held the three currently active WWE titles; NXT, Raw and currently the Smackdown championship.
Charlotte has been around wrestling since birth and she recalls that she almost immediately knew that she was meant to be a wrestler.
"When I first showed up, I was knew I was right where I belong," she told Newshub.
"I was comfortable having my dad as a wrestler - everything just felt natural. I did have doubts about if I would be any good, but I knew I belonged almost immediately. It was a just a matter of the trainers believing in me and identifying that I had the talent to achieve anything."
It wasn't until the tragic death of her brother Reid in 2013 that Charlotte began following her wrestling dreams. Reid was committed to continuing his father's legacy but unfortunately died from a drug overdose at just 25 years old. That is when Charlotte decided to fulfill her brother's dreams and dedicate her career to him.
If you want to dive a little deeper into the stories of the family legacy that is Ric and Charlotte Flair, you can pick up their book titled "Second Nature" that they released in September of 2017.
