A Florida man was arrested last Tuesday for allegedly stealing toilet paper, which is a hot item since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Safraz Shadeek Shakoor, 25, was arrested in Clearwater, Florida after breaking into a neighbor's truck and stealing a six pack of toilet paper. Shakoor is said to have taken the pack of Smart & Simple brand toilet paper, which typically retails for $1 at the Dollar General chain.
Shakoor's previous run-ins with the law include charges of armed burglary and theft, along with several marijuana-related arrests. He is being held on a $5,000 bond.
Shkoor will be charged with felony burglary.
Criminals will think of anything to try to outsmart authorities, even being completely obvious with their crimes. Two Florida men were busted over the weekend for speeding around with meth, cocaine and more packed in sacks with the words “Bag Full of Drugs” printed on them, authorities said.
Authorities pulled over driver Ian Christian Simmons and passenger Joshua Michael Reinhardt, both 34 and from Orlando, around 5:30 p.m. Saturday for cruising up to 95 miles per hour in their Kia, according to a Highway Patrol news release obtained by the Pensacola News-Journal.
Authorities found 75 grams of methamphetamine, 1.36 kilograms of the sedative GHB, 1 gram of cocaine, 3.6 grams of fentanyl, 15 MDMA tablets and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle, they said.
Both men were charged with possession of drug equipment, two counts of drug trafficking and two counts of drug possession, authorities said.
Both were booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail without a chance for bond, and remained in custody Tuesday afternoon, jail records show.
A Florida man was arrested this week for allegedly leaving his 5 year old daughter alone and scared in a haunted house for 2 hours.
Charles Jones, 35, was at a haunted house in Merritt Island when he abandoned the little girl. Someone inside the house found the scared child and watched her for an hour while searching for a parent.
The man is accused of leaving the child alone for more than two hours. Jones, authorities alleged, left the child unattended "with no reasonable effort to provide care for her" and without intending to pick her up.
Jones eventually turned himself in to the Brevard County Sheriff's Office. Jones was charged with child neglect and was booked on a $3,000 bond.
A Florida woman was arrested after she was accused of forcing her husband to sign divorce papers at gunpoint.
Millanie Sherbrook, 45 year old Pensacola resident, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without the intent to kill.
According to sources, Sherbrook and her husband were arguing when he refused to sign the papers and said he would rather handle the divorce in court. Sherbrook then grabbed a Smith and Wesson .38-caliber handgun, pointed it at her husband and told him to sign the divorce papers.
Although the man gave into her demans, he claims she continued to follow him with the gun.
According to the report, the man told deputies he feared his wife because “she is a good shooter.”
Sherbrook was arrested and remains in the Escambia County Jail without bond.
31-year-old Deniz Martinez called a bomb threat into a probation office in Winter Haven, Florida so that her boyfriend, 38-year-old Jason Drake, would not have to take a drug test that day.
Police officers were able to track down Martinez, who readily admitted to making the phone call. She was arrested for making a false report about a bomb and her boyfriend was arrested and charged with probation violation.

A suspected burglar broke into a Safety Harbor, Florida home on Tuesday and cooked himself breakfast. The homeowner claims the trespasser told him to "go back to sleep" when he confronted him.
The home's occupant told investigators he awoke to discover the man cooking and eating sometime after 4 a.m.
The resident called 911 and deputies tracked down the suspect in a wooded area behind the home.
Deputies said Gavin Crim, a 19-year-old Marine, entered the home through an unlocked rear door.
An arrest report mentioned the suspect may have been under the influence of alcohol.
A woman in Stuart, FL walked out of her backdoor during Hurricane Dorian and found a manatee eating grass from the flooded yard. The woman says that the manatee swam back to the river on its own.
A Florida man was arrested in Okaloosa, Fl after using a front end loader to dump a large amount of dirt on the car that his girlfriend was driving.
Hunter Mills, 20, asked his girlfriend to meet and talk. When he asked her a question and she refused to answer, he proceeded to dump a bucket full of dirt on the driver's side of the 2010 Cadillac....which belongs to someone else.
Deputies said the window was open so dirt filled up the air vents, center console and power windows. Thankfully, Mills' girlfriend was not injured.
Mills was arrested and charged with criminal mischief (felony) over $1,000.
